What you will achieve

  • Move, insert, and delete intermediate vertices.
  • Distinguish the drawing from the pipe's hydraulic properties.

Before you start

  • Load a copy of your model and select a pipe with intermediate vertices.
  • Record its ID and length before editing.
01

Open route editing

Select the pipe and open Edit drawing vertices. Endpoints belong to the nodes; the tool changes only the intermediate points in the drawn route.

  • Confirm the ID before editing.
  • Zoom in enough to distinguish each vertex.
02

Move, add, or remove points

Drag a point to correct its position. Insert another to represent a bend, and remove only the unnecessary intermediate point.

  • Cancel discards the draft.
  • Apply saves the new route.
  • Undo reverses a correction applied by mistake.
03

Verify what changed

Select the pipe again and compare its ID, endpoint nodes, and properties. A changed drawing does not by itself mean hydraulic length was recalculated from geometry.

Do it in WatDis

  1. Move a vertex and use Cancel.
  2. Repeat, apply the change, and use Undo.
  3. Compare ID and length before and after.

Common mistakes

Moving a node by mistake

Vertex editing targets the intermediate route; confirm the endpoints before dragging.

Inferring a new length

A visual change alone does not prove that hydraulic length changed.
